Does anyone remember Vietnam? Xiden sending 2000 U.S. troops to Ukraine has got to be one of the most horrifying things the 'Crats have done so far.

I cannot believe that the voters want the U.S. to get into another decades-long, soul and treasury-draining futile internecine conflict that has little or no direct value for our own national interests.

If as the 'Crats and other politicians say, the Ukrainian conflict is "obviously" in our own best interests to remain involved and invest in further, it should be easy to articulate to the People. Why then haven't the 'Crats done so?

I think the answer may actually be closer to what detractors like Cornel West say is the motivation than what the war-hawks claim.

IF neither side can legitimately claim a moral high ground - and it seems clear that Ukraine is a plutocratic oligarchy almost as corrupt as Russia's, then where is the morality of allowing both of them to press their own citizens into the meat grinder day after day? TO SUPPORT THE BEST INTERESTS OF CORRUPT BILLIONAIRES!?!

It may well be that many (most) of the Ukrainian people are deceived if they think they are fighting for a better life for themselves by supporting their current government. By giving endless, unconditional, limitless support to the Ukrainians, we encourage them to cling to even a remote chance they will prevail in some sort of decisive victory instead of negotiating peaceful end to the conflict.

Where the oligarchs eventually draw their imaginary borders may mean less than how many innocent men, women and children will remain alive and have a chance to live a normal life again if the fighting stops through granting concessions and accepting something less than what they feel they "deserve".

Tzadkiel (the god): (rendering judgment) I will make a judgment, though it cannot be just.

The above is a quote from author Gene Wolfe. The character Tzadkiel is a god who is rendering judgment upon Earth. One side wants him to destroy the human life on the surface (with a flood) and let it be reborn anew.,The other wants to allow Earth to continue to try to achieve Utopia, though it is by all appearances completely corrupt on every level with equally corrupt, eternally-warring factions. His statement is that no matter how he judges, neither side can possibly get everything they believe they morally deserve, and so justice (equitable adjudication of conflict) in any absolute sense, is impossible even for a god.

Tzadkiel eventually destroys Humanity on Earth to be reborn (rather than to stumble onward into evil, savage decrepitude) and remade as pure, unspoiled Ushas.

There is fortunately a strong headwind of resistance from diverse and sundry sectors in opposition to escalation or blank checks.
Gaetz is doing yeoman's work in confronting the DC Machinery trying to run roughshod over the People.

The Globalists think having unlimited financial resources will enable them to overthrow the will of the People of the United States.

Cluster bombs are a problem 50 years later in Laos. Children have been killed by them. 100 countries outlawed them. I was for Zelensky when this entire thing began but as the truth began to come out, I've changed my stance.

One of things I learned was that Putin told the WEF they were crazy with their globaloney and wanting all nations to unite as one. He told them Russia would have nothing to do with it.

I believe this is at least part of why we are at war there (admit it or not). Bush never stopped Russia from invading Georgia, Obama never stopped Russia from taking Crimea, and now Mr. Biden somehow thinks we are obliged to spend billions to stop Putin?

Retired Col. Doug MacGregor says Russia will win and hundreds of thousands of innocent lives will have been destroyed.  There is something about Ukraine. I've heard it's the bio-labs we have there (100) or that once Clinton had them give up their nukes, the US and other oligarchs used the country for money laundering. All in all, Ukraine has had very corrupt leadership and the US as well as others have used it and abused it. I'm so done with that war. It may end up that we pay some price aside from monetary for our involvement.

I'd say we are close to a hot war. Col. MacGregor also said so many have died, mostly in Ukraine, someone should step in and settle this. He also said this was the chance for China to saddle up with Russia. Not good.

We have already done huge damage to our relationship with Russia.

Much of that damage was how the DNC tried to completely demonize/humiliate Russia (before the Ukrainian invasion) with all of the bogus collusion propaganda they spewed trying to destroy DJT.

For better or worse the U.S. has a partnership with Russia in some critically important areas (space exploration, nuclear disarmament, third-world development) and the continuing anti-Russian drumbeat (absent in the DJT admin) whether deserved or not now, is having the result of pushing the Russians more and more into a pre-glasnost stance of supporting destabilization of the world (terrorist states, wars of aggression) instead of more-peaceful, lawful order.

Totally agree. We have more in common with Russia than we do with many of our Nato partners as well as our own government....

Well, I wouldn't go that far, but there are factions in Russia that look beyond the current regime to the future, who may be ready to make some changes toward genuine reform.

When our government makes it easy for those voices of reform to be silenced because of our wholesale dismissal of Russia as evil, we undermine their validity.
