Norway's Wealth Tax Is Backfiring. Are Americans Paying Attention?

The article explains that a lot of "super rich" Norwegians are leaving the country since Norway enacted a "wealth tax."  It further explains that this is somehow a surprise to the Norwegian government that their expected tax revenues have actually declined!

The included quote is,

"As early as the 17th century, Jean-Baptiste Colbert, the finance
minister to France’s Louis XIV, observed the delicate nature of
taxation.

The art of taxation consists in so plucking the goose
as to obtain the largest possible amount of feathers with the smallest
possible amount of hissing,
” wrote Colbert.

Yup.

Next, the Norwegian government will be amazed to learn that the Sun rises in the East and water runs downhill.

Regards,
Russ

A wealth tax? That's something Inslee will definitely support.

Taxes are already too high in WA. Yet people over there seem to like it (except me).

This doesn't surprise me at all. Philly enacted a silly soda tax to "stop unhealthy eating habits." Denmark tried a "fat tax" on unhealthy food. That got repealed one year later due to backlash. Go figure!

The left considers "artful" to be putting a crucifix in a container of human urine.*

* A federally funded art exhibit by an "artist" named Maplethorpe included (among other revolting images) the execrable, sacrilegious atrocity mentioned above. I will not darken the light of day with further details other than to say Democrat widely and vigorously defended the exhibition as something good and "necessary". Maybe for Satanists, it was necessary, but not for any normal human being.

LFL,

Your mention of Mapplethorpe reminded me of this work by Matthew Bracken:

It's well worth the time to read.

Take care,
Russ

"...there were no police around. Too dangerous I guess..." HAW!!!

It reminds me of "Camp of the Saints", which has come to pass in some areas. It appears some people read the book and used it as a template for action, rather than a nightmare visionary tale.
