Sen. Joe McCarthy exposed dozens of authentic Commies in H-Wood, but he screwed the pooch by fabricating evidence.

Sometimes  zealots cross the line in their enthusiasm to be effective. That is what might have happened here.

I am short on the facts of the case. This is the first I've heard of it.

This will be bad news for Texas if Paxton gets finished by the state senate.

I think there's a far more sinister reason behind this! Paxton did nothing wrong to me so far. He was doing a great job as Texas AG.

Really, Texas cannot afford to lose him. The state is turning more dangerously blue by the month.

What do they say he did wrong?

My goodness. The Texas RINOS claimed Paxton bribed people, obstructed justice, and breached public trust. These charges are vague to me!

And where's the evidence for those? The "witnesses" they claimed saw this didn't sign an oath or an affidavit. As one person said it was a "hearsay within a hearsay within a hearsay!" Not a single witness testified this Saturday. So, how does that convince me Paxton is guilty? I haven't seen any.

Apparently, this was started by speaker Phelan and several other people two months ago. There's a video
of him acting weird at work (seemingly drunk, but unconfirmed). I'm disgusted (and angered) by these people. I can't believe
Texans voted for them. Paxton must survive the senate vote.

And they only gave the house members a 48-hour notice of such impeachment done on a weekend. Why were they so quick and eager to remove him? Don't impeachments take time with proper hearings and due process? That alone is suspicious to me.

Yes, sometimes accusers pile on the charges in hopes the evidence will not be demanded.
