Ripped off on Amazon - anyone else had this happen?

I ordered some hairspray for my girl - hard-to-find travel size seems to have disappeared from everywhere. We got the bottle and it seemed very underweight. Tested the spray and only a dribble came out of the spout. ZERO pressure and underweight by about 50%.

I contacted Amazon, informed them of what happened and to their credit, they gave me an immediate refund.

So, it looks like someone shipped a bottle that was defective or used up (wire fraud?) Has anything like that happened to anyone else?

Hubby ordered a box of brewer's yeast for me during covid and they sent a few packets and charged $30.00. Then I ordered a gift for a friend and after 4 months, it was cancelled. It was from China. I wouldn't have ordered it in the first place!

Sorry to hear about your experience.

There are many stories like these about Amazon.

All I can suggest is to look at the customer reviews (including 1-star reviews) and the seller's reputation first before purchasing.

If location permits, you're probably better off buying locally.

Worse, there are numerous knockoffs you need to watch out for. This isn't limited to Amazon by the way. They can even be hard to detect until it's too late.

I dislike Amazon, but sometimes there is no choice when you have to buy online.

One of my relatives got scammed on Amazon once. She never received her product. She got refunded, but plenty of reviews said the seller is a scammer. Be careful out there.
