A Latina department manager where my daughter works, in a discussion with the store manager, accused my daughter of being racist.
My daughter told me, "I couldn't help it, I just started laughing," then I said, "Let's see, my Mom was Puerto Rican, my brother is Half Puerto Rican and married to a Cuban woman, my Dad's girlfriend is Chinese, and I'm part Native American. Racist? No, I don't think so."

That's why she said "Mom," not "Mother."
When my Wife and I came back from our honeymoon, we had four children -- ages 4, 5, 6 & 8. That's a pretty challenging situation, fraught with peril, and not with high odds of success. We made it almost 40 years until my Wife died in '08 of a liver disease.
She was Sheila's "Mom" for 40+ years, including the closeness of our families before we married. We did a couple of things right, plus maybe some others.
One thing was that the "step-words" were forbidden in our family. She was Sheila's Mom, the only "Mom" that Sheila ever knew -- never, ever, Step-Mom or Step-Daughter. It confused some of the by-standers, but made perfect sense to us.
One night, at a party at our house, a woman asked my Wife, "Which of the children are yours? Dottie replied, "They're all mine." The woman said "No, you know what I mean, which of the children are yours?"
Dottie said, "No, I don't know what you mean, and they're all mine."
I watched this with some interest because I knew how it was going to end.
The woman was not entirely stupid, so she tried another tack. "Didn't you and Russ each have two children when you married?"
Dottie replied, "Yes." Sensing victory, the woman then asked, "Well, which of the children were yours from your previous marriage?"
Dottie said, "I forgot," and walked away.
As I turned, there was a little blonde girl, with big tears in her eyes, standing right behind me. She had come in to say "Goodnight" to her Mom, and had heard it all.

Russ, you were both blessed to have what most people never experience. It generally comes from unselfishness IMHO. Brought tears. Yet, when you have something that wonderful, losing it, is also a double blow. God Bless you, Russ.

In the Soviet Union, Maoist China et al, the catch-all accusation was "counter-revolutionary". If a citizen caught a public official doing wrong (stealing, oppressing, exploiting), they and their accusation would be dismissed by the authorities as "counter-revolutionary". If the complainer persisted, they would be arrested, imprisoned, "hospitalized", tortured or murdered outright.
What the radical revolutionary socialists are trying to do with all media is to construct a cross-platform (private/government) mechanism for oppression to use against all adversaries, so they no longer have to compete in the arena of ideas ('can't do that with irrational/destructive policies).
Radical revolutionary socialists are never content to merely disagree with adversaries over how to implement good policy - they always degenerate into regarding anyone who disagrees with or opposes them strongly as sub-human enemies, worthy of nothing good, only bad - up to and eventually, including murder.
For example, the increase in terrorism encouraged by inflammatory rhetoric by government officials first massive cross-country rioting, now ecoterrorists being urged by 'Crat politicians to go into communities inhabited by "rich, white conservatives" to DEFLATE THEIR S.U.V. TIRES (yet the even more-lethal cow farts continue unabated as we speak!)
Infinite outrage permits infinite entitlement to be violent. Today the ecoparanoids will be deflating tires, tomorrow they will be torching the cars, sabotaging them to make them crash and kidnapping/killing the drivers.
