I think he is ill-advised in that attempt. Clearly the NASCAR people are savvy about national PR. They will not tolerate any shenanigans in that regard - they want the whole "Let's Go Brandon" controversy to go as far away from their sport as possible. The absolute LAST thing they want is for LGB to become a permanent fixture of NASCAR.
As previously stated, Brown has only three options - embrace those who hate Xiden, embrace those who like Xiden, change his first name. Ignoring Natural Law, he (or rather his father who owns the company) tried to embrace the LGB meme without taking sides - impossible!! Ultimately, it seems obvious that Brandon will either have to stop using his first name or retire.
This is a classic Hobson's Choice (a case where there is really only an appearance of being more than one option).
I don't think this is rocket science (QED I wouldn't have been able to figure it out).
I suggest Brandon's new name should be "Ebeneezer" or "Shirley" (stop calling me that!). Maybe he could have a contest to pick his new name. Great PR in that! See buddy, sometimes one simply has to just embrace their fate and accept it with good humor.
