What do the Republicans do if they win big in November?

I have said for a long time that one of the 'Crats big advantages in campaigns is that they tell comforting lies, while their opponents (conservatives) tell unpleasant truths.

The old truism goes, "Ill news is an ill guest". In terms of human nature, this sadly is often true, especially with people who are less informed/educated in reality.

Unlike 'Crats, conservatives as most normal people prefer to be honest - even if people might prefer fiction.

'Crats lay on the BS thick and heavy every election, promising everything and everything else to voters if only they will "trust" them.

RWR was not lying when he spoke of a "shining city on the hill" as the goal of conservatism. That message resonated with voters.

That's the sort of thing conservatives need to get good at doing. Putting out positive messages that are also realistic, to capture the imagination of voters, similar to how the 'Crats seduce voters with mendacity.

They will hold hearings that have no value
They will point out facts that do not convince anything
They will send useless bills to Biden they know are going to be vetoed and they can't overide.
They will continue to give Ukraine (read industrial military complex) billions.
They will  accomplish little to nothing that will restore the republic
They will make it twice as hard for a conservative to win the president race in 2024.

The MOST they will do is slow the destruction of all we hold dear.

It almost would be better to lose and thus bring on DeSantis as president in 2024 with a super majority in both chambers.

I am close to giving up and be satisfied that the End Times are close and none of this will matter anymore.

We are so far around the bend that I do not see a path back to normalcy.

So we’re doomed either way?

I guess the backstabbing will continue until common sense improves. No, scratch that. Common sense has never been a thing in politics.

At this point, more effort should be spend on battling tyranny at the state and local level. Hope might be at the lowest right now, but you can’t give up fighting. Gov DeSantis has shown there’s hope if the right people are elected. Not saying that you should pay less attention to the federal government, just lower your expectations and expect bad things.

And what else can you do with the federal chambers (house and senate)? Many times, they are simply expensive and pointless clown shows paid for by us, the taxpayers. And we get to see our hard-earned tax dollars go to complete waste every time. Shame on them!

I’d rather keep fighting for freedom than to submit now. Giving up is too easy and extremely regrettable (in some situations). Who knows what the future holds?

Cue: Galadriel (to Frodo Baggins): There is always hope.

Two terrific posts from RB and IHNN, IMO. Dead spot on. My own moods fluctuate in regard to my attitude toward the future. Largely I concentrate on walking my own path and leaving the salvation of Humanity to Christ et al.

I have been told, and I believe that in the larger sense, the battle is already won.

Although Tolkien never admitted to any allegory in his work, I can't help but think the ring of power might be thought of as moral, rational ethos in the minds of human beings - those who hold true to the Ring are in a sense, alone against not just the world but the Universe of Chaos and Inequity - the animalistic, and sometimes even Satanic forces all around us.

The fact that normal people and brilliant conservatives such as post here (serving as role models), actually CARE about how we are governed enough to become upset emotionally when confronted by infamy, gives me hope.

Radical revolutionary socialists generally are not sane/smart enough to give a rat's ass about the effects of public policy.

McCarthy and McConnell needs to go

I hope MAGA Republicans win, especially in AZ. Even if they take back the senate and house, McCarthy and McConnell are still RINOS. They need to be removed if both chambers are going to do anything at all. Seems like certain RINOS are hard to vote out (such as Brian Kemp).

McConnell is an institution in Kentucky and sadly being a senior, powerful member of the Senate he is entrenched. The only good thing about him is he sometimes actually seems to give a damn about correcting government and reigning in the radical revolutionary socialists.

I would happily trade mean tweets by DJT for $7 gasoline and WWIII being started. Now Xiden has picked a fight with the Saudis and seems to be stumbling and bumbling into one PR/foreign policy disaster after another.

The biggest crisis we face in the USA by far, is the needless chaos/loss/destruction being fomented, promulgated and perpetuated by the 'Crats horrifying, grotesque mismanagement of everything and everything else.

RINO infestation is still an issue

Yep. Things are easier said than done. There’s too many RINOS who act as enablers. Doug Ducey and Mark Brnovich are the textbook description of evil RINOS. Brnovich even started to investigate True The Vote (one of the allies that are trying to fight voter fraud) for some reason. What a crook!

Sometimes, you’re only able to negotiate for lesser evil, not for voting the good guys in.

Totally agree - politics has been called the art of "compromise" but that word is perilously close to "enabling".
