Baldwin has dodged criminal charges (so far) but they may be refiled based upon discovery in a pending civil suit by crew of the first production. Baldwin had criminal charges dropped for supposedly lack of evidence. The district attorney who filed the original charges said they could be refiled if new evidence emerges in the civil suit. Meanwhile the film was finished (restarted the day criminal charges against Baldwin were withdrawn) without some of the original actors who had "prior commitments" (another way of saying they didn't want to be associated with the movie any more). The movie is co-written by Baldwin who therefore likely also has a stake in the profits (if any). So to discourage people like Baldwin from existing - the film should be boycotted by everyone who is unhappy with H-Wood ignoring sanity both in front of and behind the cameras. Baldwin is in an unenviable position of having to defend himself in the lawsuit (a motion to dismiss was denied by the judge) but risk having any testimony from any witness (including himself) become usable in reopening criminal charges (most likely gross negligence/manslaughter). |
