He is much maligned by the left, not because of any quarrel with his logic or facts, but because of (wait for it) accusations of "fascism". Some of that is because the Institute is based in Alabama, so they are trying to link this to "racism". 

Since there is no rational refutation to his pensées, those who dislike him resort to the time-honored character assassination option in their efforts to neutralize his influence. 

Being the son of a Marxist, yet seeming to have learned from his sire's mistakes, he's able to function in a post-Marxism world of thought. Lacalle clearly becomes a major threat to those trying to form a global (Marxist) Super-State based upon the radical revolutionary socialist movement.
