The "machine intelligence"  refers to using an algorithm to separate Lennon's voice and guitar work from background and extraneous noise on a demo recording he collaborated on with McCartney. Once the elements were isolated, the vocal was kept, the guitar removed. Then McCartney (with producer Jeff Lynne) was able to mix the vocal into the live vocal and instruments added to the song.

The title is reportedly "Now and Then". Two other demo recordings left in McCartney's possession after Lennon's murder, were successfully cleaned up with conventional methods, but the machine intelligence was able to identify and separate all of the vocal and guitar from all of the other sounds, including some severe noise, allowing the creation of a clean mix.

Not surprising but McCartney is taking some flak from other artists who are upset that machine intelligence/AI will make it possible to produce creative products without direct participation of the actual physical artist - which they believe will be abused, victimizing artists.
