That's why I'm not sure what all of the fuss is about the Senate (other than committee heads). If your party is the majority in the Senate, that helps with some things, but ultimately, the result of the mid-terms will be gridlock and making Xiden a lame duck. 

Xiden clearly wants to continue the Eightball Obama's tradition of expanding the power of the presidency (trying to make it an autarchy) but that is where courts and legislators will hopefully step in.
