It's not between right and left, but between chaos and civilization. Order is a very thin veneer. The planet is a big, hard ball of rock mostly. Entropy works ever to undo any constructive efforts human beings apply over the eons, to bring order to the surface of Terra. 

Anyone who would design those efforts to be too complex to effectively manage needs to be shut down. 

Capitalism is the best friend socialism ever had in the sense that the aspirations of socialism (to increase the quality of life for those at the lower ends of the economic scale)  have always been best realized  by capitalism.
