None of the reported activity the author mentioned sounded particularly focused on Xi.

Having already written a book predicting the fall of the Chinese government and other catastrophes, the author is sort of stuck in that mode.

One of Xi's outstanding qualities as a leader of the PRC is his resilience in handling the oligarchy which backs his power. I have not read anything about any conditions which suggest he will fail to weather opposition to his rule in this latest case - as he has in all other similar ones.

Writers selling books predicting things, are often not reliable sources for objective analysis of political activities. They only really seem to believe things which reinforce their own viewpoint, not a larger view or any other possibilities.

It's sort of like how some surgeons will recommend whatever their specialty is, not necessarily what is best for the patient.
