Frankly the soundtrack didn't appeal at first (although I now think it might have given some good advice to Gov. Murderhouse Cuomo about his sex life) - it was great for the production but Eastwood's vocal was - uh, a little too Mark Knopfler or Bob Dylan-ish for me to enjoy. Spoken-word jazz songs seem to work better with female vocalists for some reason. Barry White can pull it off, of course. Pun intended...
Don't get me wrong, the song was great for the mood of the movie, but honestly I'd like to hear a version of "Beats a Lonely Rhythm" with a female jazz singer.
