Joe Biden gave one answer on the Supreme Court that is going to make everyone unhappy | Renewed Right
The Supreme Court is rising to the forefront of the Presidential Election.
Democrats do not want the conversation focused on this issue.
And now Joe Biden gave one answer on the Supreme Court that is going to make everyone unhappy.
Joe Biden has refused to answer any questions about the Democrats desire to pack the Supreme Court with additional liberal justices as payback for Republicans confirming Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
On Monday night, Biden tried to put this issue to bed with an interview with a Cincinnati TV station.
At first, Biden offered up the false claim that Republicans filling Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat constituted court packing.
“Look what I want them to focus on, as I’ve respectfully suggested, court packing is going on now,” Biden began.
Biden argued that because voting had already begun, the Constitution stopped applying because it was an election year.
“Never before when an election has already begun and millions of votes already cast, has it — that a supreme court nominee was put forward, had never happened before,” Biden stated. “One of the reasons is the Constitution implies that the only shot the American people get to determine who will be on a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court or federal courts is when they pick their senator and their president because the president names and the Senate advises and consents.”
Biden was pressed for his answer on court packing and offered up a half measure.
The former Vice President said he “want to get off on that whole issue,” and added that he is “not a fan of court packing.”
But that does not answer the question as to whether or not he would sign a bill a Democrat House and Senate put on his desk expanding the Supreme Court to 15 justices.
Biden saying he is “not a fan” of court packing makes it clear that if Democrats put a court packing bill on his desk he will very likely sign it claiming he is only doing it “reluctantly” and that he has no choice because that is what Congress wants.
