In the "off season" he spent a lot of his own money to hire the best trainers to help. The same guy Tom Brady goes to, among others. They focused on the fundamentals, like not moving his feet for no reason while in the pocket. This year his throws have been markedly improved as a result.

He also has been much better at avoiding the hard hits when he runs. Goes out of bounds more, gives himself up when needs to, uses runs that avoid full speed contact from the big guys at least. He also is better at how to fall and not get as hurt.
Now if RG3 can just help him avoid the mistake he made, to keep from ruining his career, he is all set.

22 years old and front runner for NFL MVP this year.
