This is my corps, the Keystoners, performing the color presentation in the middle of our show (1966).

Picture the corps forming in a company front to the tune of "Downtown" on the far side of the field, backs to the crowd opposite the stands, center-pivoting on the roll-off leading into the color presentation.

The corps advances into a chevron with the silks dispersed throughout the ranks, drum line in the middle, while the color guard proper marches at 90 degrees across behind them, pivoting at the center into position. As the corps marches forward, the color guard advances up the middle behind the drum line. At the crescendo, the drum line opens like doors swinging backward and the colors come through, Old Glory raised from the harness to the bearer's shoulder, high above it all, to the finale.

Call me old-fashioned, but THAT is Drum Corps.

Democrats wouldn't buy a clue if it was government subsidized.
