Yeah, I caught a Fox News headline once on their website that misused the word "flaunt". They meant "flout" as in "flouting the rules".

It was obvious that the "B" editing squad was in duty (a weekend) and dropped the ball badly. Hopefully their boss found out about it and punished the guilty by demoting them.

Ever since telejournalism transformed into largely automated rescripting of text with robot editing because those who submit articles are often paid little or virtually nothing for their contributions, the standards for spelling syntax, vocabulary and grammar have declined a lot.

More information is available but less of it is well-written or accurately edited.
