I can see 2 likely reasons.
1. Many medical people go into specializations because of family members suffered from it. Many cancers have hereditary links.
2. They are more likely to get tests for every type of cancer, and thus detect things that in others would never be found in others until after they were dead (of something else, perhaps because of a compromised immune system).
