The biggest problem with her argument is that she assumes we can expand our vote collections as easy and economically as the other side can. The vast populations of the cities are more easily swayed by the same things than the vast populations in the rural area is.
Someone in downtown NY City and someone in Miami have more in common than someone in the hills of Maine and someone in the hills of Kentucky do.
This gives them a huge advantage on getting more votes with less effort.
