Although you articulate the legalistic argument well, I'm not fully doctrinaire on this one, General!! I think the leftists are using constitutional issues to push licentiousness.

The so-called "objective metrics" for blood levels of THC are scientifically absurd. It is dangerous to wholly legalize psychotropic substances which have potential for causing serious problems - even if the serious problems are only with a fairly narrow demographic/percentage of the population.

Remember cocaine was legal until roughly 1908, when people figured out that it was not a coincidence that the psychosis rate for cocaine users was ten thousand percent higher than the rest of the population.

So they had to outlaw it. It still remained in the population of course - but the proscription did stem the epidemic of insanity related to abuse of cocaine in the US.
