An Aug. 12 shooting in Grattan Township was the result of an intoxicated neighbor and a man acting in self-defense, according to Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker.

Police are investigating after a Springfield homeowner reported that he had fatally shot someone breaking into his home.

Lt. Chris Wells said officers found 36-year-old Christopher Seitz dead at the home early Wednesday.

Wells said the homeowner has been cooperating with the investigation.

The Springfield News-Leader reports Travis Hollingsworth said his father, who is a Pentecostal minister, shot the man. Hollingsworth lives across the street from his parents.

Police are investigating after they say a woman shot a man in the face as he choked her during an argument at a Waco apartment complex.

Waco police confirmed Wednesday that officers were sent to the Arlington Farms apartments in the 1800 block of Primrose Drive just before midnight.

When officers arrived they found a man shot in the face.

Police later identified the man as Homer Hampton, 40.

During the investigation officers discovered Hampton and woman, who are in some sort of relationship or possibly related, were fighting when the man began to choke the woman, Waco police Sgt. Patrick Swanton said.

During the struggle, Hampton pulled out a gun, but the woman was able to point it toward him and shoot him, Swanton said.

A man who shot and killed another who attacked him on his front porch acted in self-defense, Prosecutor Chris Becker said. Jaime Fredericks shot Robert Morgan, 44, of Belding, inside Frederick's Grattan Township home. Fredericks, a U.S. Army veteran and concealed-pistol license holder, feared for his family when Morgan and others showed up in the middle of the night - upset that Fredericks' wife had asked them to quiet down.

A jury has found a man not guilty of murder in a shooting death after an argument in a South Carolina Waffle House.

Eric Nixon's lawyer said he feared for his life in February 2017 when he shot 28-year-old Wayne Bell in the parking lot of the Columbia restaurant.

Witnesses testified that Nixon went after Bell, but defense lawyer Micah Leddy told The State newspaper a video from a bystander showed Bell following Nixon into the parking lot after the argument.

Uber Suspends Driver Who Allegedly Used Gun in Self-Defense

Uber suspended driver Robert Westlake after he allegedly used a gun in self-defense in Polk County, Florida, earlier in the week. On August 29 Breitbart News reported that Westlake was driving an Uber when a pickup veered toward him, then came to a stop in front of him, thereby forcing him to stop in the middle of a highway. Dashcam video then showed the pickup driver exit his vehicle and allegedly threaten the Uber driver while walking toward the Uber with something in his hand.


Democrats wouldn't buy a clue if it was government subsidized.
