He suggested that some human beings (many or most) are severely detached from reality because they force every perception through a filter in the cerebral cortex.
He mused that perhaps there would be some pharmacological or genetic repair therapy which could help restore them to sanity by connecting the emotional brain and the cortex with more interconnections (as exist in other normal mammals).
Hopefully this would enable people to require that things they do make sense not only emotionally but intellectually as a synergistic cognition - not one or the other.
A man (sees) what he wants to see and disregards the rest.
