complicated our efforts because we could not get inside the house to
fight the fire," said Charles Stubbs with Fulton County Fire and Rescue.
Channel 2 Action News cameras were rolling as animal control crews brought out the abused and neglected dogs and puppies.
Channel 2's Matt Johnson learned
the animals, which appear to be mixed-breeds, were living in inhumane
conditions. The inside of the house was filled with animal feces and
urine, as well as the outside of the home and backyard.
"It's a cruel situation these animals have been housed in," said Tim Poorman with Fulton County Animal Servicses.
Officers said they found several pregnant dogs and one dead dog on the property.
Officials say they'll spend the next few days working on placement assessments to figure out which ones can be adopted out.
