Anti-conservative fanatics have been trying for decades to neutralize the advantage AM radio talk shows have given to conservatives. Rush Limbaugh et al, started a sea-change in politics which the ACFs were never able to do. Countless billionaire-financed efforts by 'Crats to create an effective "liberal" (Marxist) talk-radio network failed miserably since el Rushbo launched in the 1980s. Not one was ever profitable/financially viable. The 'Crats finally got so frustrated being unable to make use of AM talk radio to further their leftist mass-media propaganda network, they finally decided to simply eradiate AM radio!! The plan was apparently to induce automakers like Ford, to eradicate AM radios from new cars. I am unfamiliar with the rationale used by Ford for trying to do this (too costly to incorporate non-digital broadcasting hardware?) but I suspect it was mostly wokunism seeping into the upper-echelons of management. The AM-radio attack drew immediate intense criticism from lawmakers and the public on many fronts. Congress called hearings and a rare-but-increasing GOP-led bipartisan conclusion was that Ford et al should desist for if nothing else, public safety reasons (AM radio carries the emergency alert broadcast system). Ford just caved. All new cars will continue to be equipped with broadcast AM signal reception. Nice try, 'Crats!! So ends the war by ACFs to take over or destroy AM radio they have waged since talk radio shows first ascended to profound influence in public policy debates. |
