Bud Light Sales Fall 26% as Transgender Backlash Worsens The Dylan Mulvaney controversy continues to hurt Bud Light. Beer Business Daily reported Sunday that Bud LIght’s off-premise sales volume–the amount of beer sold outside of restaurants and bars–was down 26.1% from a year earlier in the week ended April 22, based on scan data. Volumes were down 21.1% in the prior week, while so far this year, Bud Light volumes are down 8%. . . . I served on a Board of Directors with the long-time CEO of Pier 1 Imports (during their glory years). He had a saying that always intrigued me: "A funny thing about customers, it's Ok to make them mad once in awhile, but don't piss 'em off." He should have given that advice to the Bud Light folks. They have, indeed, managed to "piss 'em off." I don't think they can recover from this debacle in any reasonable amount of time. Regards, Russ
