That "discordia" term is from a Stephen King series (The Dark Tower). In the world King created for the story, the world is breaking down, regressing generally in every way. When something especially poignantly destructive or troubling occurs, it is common for people to muse, "Ah!Discordia!!" lamenting the prevalent degeneration of everything. BTW, that King series was uneven and often ponderously plodding (at best) but I liked that specific thing about it, above.
