Much of the "primal gesticulation" Xiden does reminds me of Jack Nicholson's portrayal of POTUS in director Tim Burton's loony-but-hilarious When Mars Attacks. The Capital building, and half of Congress have been destroyed in a Martian attack. Nicholson (as the president) escapes, then on T.V. from a bunker gives the People the high sign, over-confident grin, brags; Nicholson: (President): It's true that the Capitol Building and the House of Representatives have been destroyed, but the Executive Branch and the Senate are still intact...AND TWO-OUT-OF-THREE AIN'T BAD!!"
