The article (which I won't bother posting) mentions that the actor who passed away (some bit player named Ned Eisenberg) had rolls that included (they list several familiar movies) one in Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby as "SALLY Mendoza" I thought it was a mistake but 'looked it up and sure enough he was cast as "Sally Mendoza". The casual way in which they mentioned this (without any comment or clarification) seemed damned strange to me.
Here they are publishing an obituary and just matter-of-factly mention that a male actor portrayed a woman like it's not the least bit unusual or notable. Sometimes times change for the worse.
