Next they will pass a law to make it legal to breath air. If they want to protect people from needless prosecution, howsabout allowing defense attorneys to explain jury nullification during closing arguments? Passing laws to protect an accused person by ensuring that jury's are aware of nullification would go further to protect against prosecutorial overreach. Any judge or lawyer knows the law and can weigh evidence better than jury members. Nullification is the primary reason for jury's to exist, yet in most jurisdictions a defendant /defense attorney is prohibited from mentioning jury nullification.
