From an Aug 10th post:
"Democrat presidential candidate John Kerry says he, "....deplores and cannot understand why there are no men's synchronized swimming teams in Olympic competition, I don't understand why there are only women's teams, President Bush never brought this up during his administration.
I enjoy synchronized swimming with the guys and think men's synchronized swimming teams should definitely be an Olympic event."

Kerry Jumps in Olympic Pool Wearing a Tutu

ATHENS (TAP) - Olympics Games organizers ordered beefed-up security at all venues after an embarrassing breach involving presidential candidate John Kerry who leapt into the pool during a synchronized swimming event.

The order to step up security was launched after Kerry, dressed in a tutu and ballet slippers, mounted one of the boards and plunged into the water during the competition Monday evening.

Kerry stayed in the pool doing some fancy backstrokes for several minutes before confused Greek officials realized he was not a part of the women's synchronized swimming event and pulled him out.

Roger Lipschitz, CEO of the Athens organizing committee, told a press conference that Mr. Kerry "wanted to protest the sexual discrimination shown toward men by the Olympic committee"

"He (Mr. Kerry) also threw some Olympic medals over a security fence that did not belong to him," Lipschitz said.

Mr. Kerry was taken away by security staff and handed over to the police.

He will remain in custody until such time as the Democratic National Committee claims him.

Lipschitz said that because of Kerry's prank, police would now be placed around all competition areas.

But to play down the police presence the officers will be dressed in the bright multicolored Tutus and ballet slippers worn by women in the synchronized event.

"We want to keep the appearance of security low-key. Security people are there but we don't want venues to be packed with people in uniforms," said Lipschitz.
