July 17, 2004 (TAP)-- Martha Stewart talked to Barbara Walters about her sentence, when Ms Walters asked how she would handle prison food, fellow inmates and strip searches, she said, "I can do it I can sleep on the ground.....there's many other people that have gone to prison. Look at Nelson Mandela."

The battalion of lawyers working for lifestyle queen Martha Stewart today filed an appeals motion on her behalf in U.S. District Court in New York.

"Martha Stewart was subjected to horrible conditions during her trial" said one unnamed attorney, "The paneling in that courtroom was atrocious. The effect on her mental sensibilities was substantial and prejudicial.

That's not all, three or four jurors had "extraordinarily bad taste and fashion sensibility. We feel our client did not receive a fair trial from people who don't know how to properly match colors and accessorize," said the unnamed lawyer.

Our Assorted Press reporter attending the trial reports that U.S. District Court Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum blocked a move by Ms. Stewart to "prepare a nice warm apple-cranberry cobbler for the court before the sentence was to be announced."

Yesterday, Ms Stewart spoke with our reporter on the court house steps, she said, "Look, I know that I'm another wealthy Democrat like Sen. Kerry's wife but at least I'm not like that bastard Soros who is a crooked speculator and parasite and who is a one-man engine of global anti-semitism....... ", at that point Ms Stewart's aides quickly escorted her to a waiting limousine.
